I thought I would share a pic of the cute bib I found for Baby "Boo" (which is what we call my soon to be niece or nephew)....

a tribute to my sis

if you haven't heard yet...brooks and i are going to be a "new" aunt and uncle! my sister and her husband are expecting their first child (and first in the fam) in march. i am ecstatic to say the least!

this past week i had the wonderful priviledge of spending a few days up in northern VA visiting my sister and planning for baby Boo. it was such a joy and a treat...and a great time to spend some quality time together before life changes for the both of us and it's no longer "sister time" but "sister and baby time".

my sister is dear to my heart. a strong and stable woman. she has been one of my heros throughout life. she has played the sister role, friend role, mom role. thank you Lord for my sister and blessing her with being a mom to be.

okay...i'm back blogging. i have been inspired lately by many blogs and therefore they have inspired me to start again. so i decided to jazz the page up a bit and then actually committ to writing.

i am so excited for the fall. we have been enjoying a few days of cool mornings and nights and actually bearable midday temperatures. that means its time to savor those days - we dont' get many of those around here. it's so hard to believe september is almost over...time flies. however i am looking forward to several "fallish" activities which include: pots of soup, gatlinburg, apple picking, apple cider and carving pumpkins. oh i can't wait...i just love this time of year!!

obviously i haven't been here to write to you in forever. i won't fill you in on all the details of life since i last wrote but will tell you our holidays were great and our new year has been great too.

right now we have been back on track decorating and "fixin up" the house. our kitchen is completely finished and i love it! just this week we (well, mostly brooks) worked on our dining room. it is now orange with brown accents..definitely beats the bland, boring white walls. next we want to work on our bedroom and our half bath...plus throw a yard sale in there somewhere! the other day i asked brooks what we were going to do with ourselves when all this house stuff was complete...we'll be bored!!!

we are trying to take it slow a little longer before a busy march and april creep up on us. however we are looking forward to our anniversary trip away in a few weeks.
