i think i need to change my contacts...

my grandma passed away a month ago. it was pretty much, horrible. i have so much in my heart, so many emotions when i think of her. i thought here would be a good place share. my grandma was so dear to me, dear to her family and dear to everyone around her. she raised me and my sister for a while when i was young while my mom was battling with cancer. she has always had a special place in my heart, and i always had a special place in hers. i loved her. i loved her so. life is so hard without her, but i thank the Lord that she is happy, that she is whole, that she is with her sisters, and that i will see her again.

the week she was in the hospital and passed away was one of the hardest weeks of my life, ever. it was hard to spend days knowing it may be her last. it was hard hearing her tell us to be safe and lock the back door. it was hard to hear her say this might be the last time we are all together and that she wants to see us in heaven one day. it was hard to kiss her sweet face that night knowing she might not be there in the morning.

it hurt to see her lifeless body. it hurt to see my family cry. it hurt to walk into a house where she no longer sat in her rocking chair. it hurt to find the bedroom slippers that were keeping her feet warm a few days prior. it hurt to stand beside that casket. it hurt to tell her goodbye. and it still hurts.

i called my grandpa yesterday. my address book says, "grandma jumper". i think i need to change my contacts.

inspired by friends.

yesterday a friend approached me and said, "oh i see you have a blog". she had found it through another friends blog. hmm, how do i answer that statement. yes, i have a blog. but i also have hand weights, wii fit, tennis shoes but that doesn't mean i'm using them. so, since inspired by friends, lets try this again. i'm not committing to too much blogging. but i will do better.

our boy

well, well, well. obviously this post is loooooong overdue. a lot has happened since my last post.

we found out it was a boy.
we had the boy.
we named him carter.
we brought him home.
we started to figure out this parenting thing.

since you have missed the first few months of carters life i will fill you in on a few things we love about him.

we love that he is a snuggle bunny.
we love when he learned to coo.
we love that he is so happy in the mornings.
we love when he smiles.
we love his dimple.
we love that he is a blankey boy.
we love his baby talk.
we love that he recognizes us.
we love his sensitive spirit.
we love that he plays with his toys and everything goes straight to his mouth.
we love that he screams in delight.
we love that he is rolling over bc that helps him sleep (sometimes).
we love that after a few tough weeks he has learned to take a bottle again.

carter has changed our lives forever. he is a true blessing!

Exciting News!

Well the first piece of exciting news is that we are expecting our first baby in September! We are very happy to begin the "family" part of our lives together. We are almost half way and will find out if it's a boy or girl in a few weeks. Cheerio hasn't quite caught on yet, but we are hoping it will be an okay transition for her as well :) We are enjoying our last few months together before our little bean arrives!

The second piece of exciting news is that our niece is here!!!! Yay! Miss Abigail was born on April 2nd and we were able to spend some time up there with my sister, her husband, and Abigail. She is such a precious little girl, with such a personality already! It's hard being so far away and not able to see her growing and changing on a day to day basis. But we are very happy that they will be cousins so close in age!
Here is a picture of Abigail a few days old....
